Over half of Canada’s 5.6 million seniors own life insurance and the vast majority of them cannot receive the fair market value for their policy if they choose to sell or assign it before it lapses or is terminated. It means billions of dollars remain in life insurance companies pockets instead of in the pockets of Canadian seniors.
